Full Individual Sets plus Extended Collaborative Encore
Full of Hell was formed in 2009 by Spencer Hazard in an effort to meld his own crossbreed of hardcore punk, powerviolence, grindcore, death metal and crust with power electronics and harsh noise. In late 2009 the band was joined by vocalist Dylan Walker. Long-time drummer David Bland became a permanent member when he finally reached age 16 soon after that. They are currently signed to Relapse Records. They have released 3 studio albums – Roots of Earth Are Consuming My Home (2011, A389 Records), Rudiments of Mutilation (2013, A389 Records), and Trumpeting Ecstasy (2017, Profound Lore Records)– as well as 3 full-length collaborations – Full of Hell & Merzbow (2014, Profound Lore Records) with Japanese noise artist Merzbow and One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache (2016, Neurot Records) and Ascending a Mountain of Heavy Light (2017, Thrill Jockey Records) with sludge metal duo the Body – aside from a gamut of EPs and splits. 2019 sees the release of Weeping Choir, the spiritual successor to Trumpeting Ecstasy, via Relapse Records.
While often referred to as a doom/sludge metal act, the Body have progressed far beyond that scene, incorporating samples, electronic processing, acoustic instruments, and elements of dub, classical, blues, and numerous other genres into their relentlessly experimental music. On albums like 2013's Christs, Redeemers, they added strings and choral vocals, while 2016's No One Deserves Happiness featured beats influenced by contemporary pop and rap. The Body have built up a dedicated following through endless touring as well as their prolific release schedule, including collaborations with groups such as Thou, Krieg, and Full of Hell.
